Some of our Favorite Things…

We don’t just know the area, we live and love it. If you’re new to the valley or just looking for some fresh recommendations, we’ve listed a few of our go-to spots below.

  • A scenic landscape featuring a large body of turquoise water, rolling green hills, and rugged mountains under a cloudy sky.

    Where to Eat

Though small in size, Lexington offers a variety of dining experiences. We love Haywoods Piano Bar for a fun ambiance with elevated cuisine. For pub grub check out Devil’s Backbone Brewery, and don’t forget Wildberry Market for fresh acai bowls, smoothies and espresso.

  • A distant view of a modern house on a grassy hillside with snow-capped mountains in the background under an overcast sky.

    Where to Stay

Lexington boasts amazing accommodations both downtown with boutique hotels like the Georges, and with multiple charming Airbnbs in the countryside.

  • Person sitting on a kayak on a lake with a person kayaking in front, surrounded by green trees and hills under a partly cloudy sky.

    Where to Play

You’re spoiled for choice with outdoor activities in the region. From kayaking the Maury or James Rivers, biking the backroads, taking in a world class show at the Virginia Horse Center, or hiking the many trails of the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can’t go wrong when you head outside!

  • Two glasses of beer, one darker and one lighter, on a wooden surface with a blurred outdoor background. Both glasses have the Great Valley Farm Brewery & Winery logo.

    Where to Relax

Rockbridge County and the surrounding areas are home to many award winning breweries and wineries. We personally love taking in the views and brews at Great Valley Farm Brewery and Winery. Or enjoy your drink with a side of world class music under the stars at the Lime Kiln Theater.
