Meet Rodger and Susan. Together they bring decades of experience and a passion for helping clients navigate buying and selling in today’s unique market. About Us

Susan Rinehart, a native of Middleburg, VA and graduate of the Foxcroft School, brings nearly four decades of real estate expertise and a lifetime of equestrian knowledge to her work. Her career began in Boulder, Colorado, and later took her to South Florida, where she joined the sales team at Palm Beach Polo and Country Club. It was during this time that she met Rodger Rinehart — the two married in 1990 and have been working together ever since.

In 1994, Susan and Rodger returned to Virginia, settling in the Rockbridge-Lexington area, where they've become trusted names in the real estate community. Susan has been a top producer of fine properties throughout Rockbridge, Augusta, Albemarle, Bath, and surrounding counties. As long-time farm owners and residents of the Shenandoah Valley, the Rineharts offer unmatched insight into the region’s distinct character, from its rolling landscapes to its vibrant communities.

Outside of real estate, Susan is a passionate animal advocate and long-time supporter of local rescues. Their home is shared with their beloved dogs, and they can often be found walking the cross-country course at the Virginia Horse Center or visiting their grown children, Hanna and Rodger.

Susan Rathbun Rinehart

Rodger, born and raised in Albemarle County, worked in his family business based in Staunton, and eventually settled in Walkers Creek, where the Rineharts raised their two children and many four legged friends, establishing their roots in Rockbridge County.

Now active in his second decade as a realtor in Lexington/Rockbridge area and surrounding regions, Rodger continues sharing his local experience, passion for sports (especially polo) and love for the Shenandoah Valley with all his clients.

Sports and real estate share many of the same qualities: a competitive edge, discipline, resilience, and an unwavering work ethic. Rodger’s career in polo took him across the U.S. and abroad. From Palm Beach Polo in Florida and Retama in Texas to Brandywine (PA), Myopia (MA), Eldorado (CA), Cowdray Park in England, and Aiken (SC), Rodger competed at some of the sport’s most iconic venues.

In 2006, he transitioned to real estate, another high-stakes, fast-paced field where competition is fierce. Under the mentorship of legendary broker Otis Mead, whose vision helped shape Lexington and Rockbridge into highly desirable destinations, Rodger gained invaluable experience. The skills honed on the polo field and in the real estate market continue to define his approach today.
